Handcrafted Pottery
With a BS in Art Education from Kent State University I have been making pottery for decades and before that I sewed. I see a correlation between the two. As a flat piece of fabric becomes a piece of clothing, a lump of clay transforms into a useful object.
I strive to create functional artwork that adds beauty to our everyday life. I believe handmade work is increasingly important in our digital world.
I listen to the input of my customers to create forms that are truly useful every day. Most of my pottery has a theme of leaves and soft, natural glazes. All the pieces coordinate with each other, allowing a customer to build a collection of my work.
All my pottery is lead-free, can be used in microwave and conventional ovens as well as being dishwasher safe.
My work has been included in shows at the Canton Museum of Art, the North Canton Little Art Gallery, the Massillon Museum and Malone University.
